Walking Iris flowers (Neomarica caerulea). They earned their nickname via their unique propagation method: the flower dies, a new plantlet forms on the tip of the flowering stalk. As the stalk grows heavy, it bends to the ground & lets the new plantlet to take root away from the parent plant, effectively "walking" across the garden over time. #flowers #nature #biology #photo #plants #garden
