this is why you don't zip tie cables to the wall I guess
this specific AP hasn't been in use for a while now, I just took the photo while we were replacing similar "quality" cabling for other APs that are in active use; at least two other cables also had big holes in their insulation, not from zip ties but purely from spending a few years on the roof of a 9-floor building while *not* being outdoors-rated at all, I'm pretty sure. (and/or birds I guess? idk)

@grawity@social.treehouse.systems In some sheds and garages with network wiring — and with occasional critters visiting — plenum-rated four-pair was less chewed than was the vinyl-wrapped non-plenum cabling. Which means a couple of subsequent cable re-run projects got plenum-rated wiring in not-plenum spaces. Whether the plenum-rated jacket doesn’t absorb critter grime, or it just tastes bad?
