🚆🇬🇹🇬🇧 #Guatemala has selected the #UK as a partner for the #Metro Riel rail project in Guatemala City under a five-year agreement signed on 9 July. The partnership will support planning and delivery through UK technical expertise, knowledge sharing and potential financing. Signed in Guatemala City in the presence of President Bernardo Arévalo, Foreign Minister Carlos Ramiro Martínez and British Ambassador Juliana Correa, the agreement establishes a joint working group that will meet twice a year to oversee co-operation and progress. The UK will share experience from major rail, public transport and infrastructure projects, while Infrastructure Exports: UK and UK Export Finance will explore opportunities to support the scheme.
