Didn't include this in the writeup, but just for the purpose of keeping score, this would likely not have happened if it was written in #Rust because mutability is part of the type system, so you don't end up accidentally mutating what should be an immutable object! https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop/security/advisories/GHSA-78xq-8jf3-gpfx
