10 years ago Emily started her journey she was happy and free. She was chatty and confident in every situation. She was just happy to be her awesome self. She confidently used girls toilets, changing rooms and when she was leaving primary school she went on the school residential holiday staying with the girls. This was after me have numerous meetings with her school as one parent had “a concern” about Emily sharing with the girls. My stance was if the parents aren’t happy then don’t send their child on the holiday, Emily is no threat. They wanted everyone to be included so many meetings were held where they tried to stong arm me into accepting Emily having a room with a teacher. This was unacceptable and my final stance was that Emily will only go if she shares with the girls if this other family “have concerns” let their kid share with a teacher. Also if Emily didn’t attend would be taking it up with the board of governors and the education authority for violating her human rights. This worked like a charm, unfortunately I know this would hold no weight today. How far we have fallen.
