Last weekend I spent a couple of hours sitting with friends with rare/uncommon diagnoses and tracing their diagnostic paths and the evidence and clues that emerged early. Every step along the way it was just so clear how tough all of this is

Not only because of the difficulty of prediction and differential diagnosis which is obviously hard on the face of it (although I suspect we could do a much better job of demarcating strong indicators here), but of course, the layer of having to package a communication goal to a provider
