I admit I still have those moments equivalent to the actor staring right at the camera with the combination vibe of "what the fuck" and "oh, my soul and body" when I see credulous news articles about Canadian Provincial Liquor Boards not buying USA products and COMPLETELY SKIPPING the detail that the LB's don't spend money on products that the people will not buy!
Makes no sense for the LB's to pay money to have bottles collecting dust. They can collect dust in the USA for free.

@just_one_bear@mastodon.social I'd really like to see numbers for how much sales of US alcohol products have dropped in Alberta & other provinces where they're still available. I have seen anecdotes from private liquor store owners that they're still not bothering to stock much because of the lack of customer interest, but no solid data.
