People who claim to have a problem with GPL are a meme in themselves. It's always the same "moar freedoms!" arguments, but actually they always have some part of software you'll absolutely need to make use of the free parts and they want to sell you that part as closed as possible. It's not a law. There are counter-examples. But it's really rare to ever find a new one.
