I’m not speculating, I’m commiserating that the pi 4 has some of the flakiest video hardware I’ve ever experienced. However, the issues I’ve seen don’t match what you have described

@crazybutable@mastodon.social On one Pi, the situation appears to be permanent. On another, it "got better" for a while then got weird in a different way. So yeah my best guess is that something in the video hardware got scorched. And, as per tradition, I'm the only person this has ever happened to, and it happened to me twice in a row.
