Even on vacation, you're not safe from right-wing rabble. This afternoon, some proverbial "oddball" actually tried to tell me, unprompted, that Austria should leave the warmongering EU and that all support for Ukraine, including arms deliveries, should be stopped. Because, apparently, the money just ends up in the corrupt pockets of those Nazis surrounding Zelensky. I didn't really engage with him much because it was immediately clear to me that he was a mentally challenged FPÖ supporter. Besides, he was the personification of cognitive dissonance and aesthetic disappointment. My only response was, what should Austria do after leaving the EU? After all, around 60% of Austria's GDP is generated within the EU. The best cautionary tale about leaving the EU would be the United Kingdom: higher unemployment, stagnant economy. A large majority of Brits actually want to rejoin the EU. The only response: I'm just another left-wing scumbag.
