@geonz@mathstodon.xyz @GreenRoc@mastodon.social 20+ years ago, I was meeting a girlfriend in London. she had gone ahead for a work meeting and I arrived to join her later. As I exited the underground I phoned her for directions which resulted in: "Walk towards the Dillons bookshop. OK, cross at the crossing. Turn right, keep walking. Stop. Now turn around." and there she was. There was no way I would have recognised her otherwise. We'd been together for 3 years. I think I would recognise my wife, now after being together for 16 years, but I couldn't describe her.
