In 1984 I was of age and could cast a vote in the US presidential election that year. Reagan was the incumbent, Mondale was the zero that the Democratic Party sent to slaughter. I had a very clear choice when I wrote #jessejackson in on my ballot. It felt powerful. I believed in change—that the American dream was inclusive of many voices. People told me that I would become pragmatic, more conservative with the passing years. It hasn’t happened yet. Keep dreaming. Keep fighting!
