Police have issued a statement that Ann Widdecombe was killed in a "targeted" and "brutal" attack. However they're still not declaring it a terrorist incident. While this doesn't reveal much, it rules out the theory of it being a burglary gone wrong. Although that theory was pretty thin when the suspect had to travel over 250 miles. It also appears that police are still operating under the belief that the murder wasn't politically motivated.
