Trump is the party and the base is looking for someone with charisma, not another suit. If the field is so flat that Vance or Rubio could become party nominee, then the party is dead. Trump chose Vance because he didn’t want someone who would outshine him. Vance will only be President if Trump croaks.

Exactly. Wouldn’t surprise me if the magats will be clamouring for someone from the “royal family” to take over, instead of one of the soulless minions.
