Early July, and I saw something unusual through our roof window. I dressed quickly, grabbed camera and tripod and headed for the garden.
The eastern sky was full of noctilucent clouds.
These "night-shining" are the highest clouds in our atmosphere, forming in the mesosphere about 80 kilometres (50 miles) above the Earth's surface during the summer months at latitudes between ≈ 45 to 80 degrees.
I was so very lucky!
