When people say "the billionaire speculators are going to deny us access to space for decades", I implore you to phrase that like you're not threatening me with a good time.

Like: squashing every one of Apartheid Emerald Mine Space Karen's goals is a net good for humanity. If we have to have a little Kessler Syndrome to get to there, maybe that's a win. If it's not, show your work.

@jwz@mastodon.social For purely practical value, GPS/GNSS would be a pain to lose. And even if only for sentimental reasons, not being able to watch the stars without seeing an orbiting garbage dump would be really, really painful.
