@jake4480@c.im The Stranger is amazing. I need to still read Animal Farm. Just today I read Orwells essay โThoughts on the Common Toadโ and it reaffirmed that I need to get to Orwell soon. https://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks03/0300011h.html#part45

@jake4480@c.im @rtw@mastodon.sdf.org Does ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ณ๐บ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐ฐ๐ต 49 count as a #novella? It's definitely on the thin side for a novel. In any case, it's my second-favorite work of fiction. (Number 1 is Borges's short story "Tlรถn, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius".)

#novella Samuel R. Delaney's Babel-17, The Einstein Intersection, Nova. The first two are short enough to be novellas in my opinion. I consider the last a novella by today's standard monstrously-thick novel. @jake4480@c.im @rtw@mastodon.sdf.org

@jake4480@c.im @rtw@mastodon.sdf.org I'll have to dig through my memory banks. Other than being a Camus student like yourself, I can't say I've read that many for some reason. I have been wanting to read 'Hearts of Darkness' by Joseph Conrad for ages, though. And I think there are a few more on the short list, fiction and non-fiction. Still, a great question...
