I made a fun video about a fun project to run an AIM server and I've had hundreds of comments saying I'm giving terrible advice because AIM is old and XMPP is modern.
I can't even with those folks.

When I got the C64 online, a similar strain happened. "I don't know why you're suggesting this, a Commdore 64 is not a supported machine for accessing websites" Like, yeah. That's the point. It's bad enough that big tech wants to suck the joy out of tech. It's worse when everyday people try to suck the joy out of tech. Just. Have. Fun.
