@Purplegengar25@lgbtqia.space I think Debian 12 was the first version that natively included noncommercial repositories in a much easier way to navigate and employ. Many people with difficulties using Debian before version 12 may have had issues with that aspect specifically.I remember Linux Mint had an LMDE edition, based on Debian instead of Ubuntu. I have not kept up to see if standard Mint is still Ubuntu based. Canonical runs Ubuntu, and I dislike them.

  • @goblingua@sunny.garden Mint is based on Ubuntu, but they're independent now. They have LMDE just in case Canonical makes something crazy. But they're independent, they have a different governance than Ubuntu.
