My mom was a Pediatrician with a private practice. She liked to say "your health is endangering your insurance company's profits." Too healthy, you may quit paying for insurance you don't need. Too sick, you turn into negative cash flow. Everything they do, every decision, is motivated by their keen desire to avoid either of those circumstances. Its a monopoly.
