OK, so now that it's pretty much done, I have thoughts about the #Platner nomination.
First, clearly there is a huge appetite in the electorate for people who sound like they want to fight hard for big changes. The reason the Wall Street #Democrats hated Platner was because he was not them and threatened their comfortable existence. They don't want to fight their friends across the aisle and resent being told they should.

The fact that a cypher like Platner was able to gain traction with Maine's electorate indicates a large, mostly untapped, well of enthusiasm for taxing the rich, imprisoning the corrupt and putting working people first. The Democrats would do well to stop denigrating those potential voters and instead try to woo them. 2/ #USPol #politics
