Very few things in tech make me as upset as the whole concept of KNX. Yes, let's hardwire all the "smarts" in the house and make it so even something as simple as replacing a light switch requires either paying multiple hundred Euros for a physical license key for a software that only runs on Windows or calling an electrician who already owns said license. Let's also call it "open standard" because it's open for any COMPANY to implement (after paying the necessary licenses, of course!).
