@bleedingphoenix@wolfgirl.bar I did this a lot as a kid. I liked Star Wars not because I liked it but because it helped me relate to those around me. I hated that my parents didn't let me watch Sponge Bob because it isolated me from all the other kids who loved it. This isn't an insignificant or even bad thing, it's a reaction to the atomization of society and the lack of a common culture.
