24.7% of the voting members of the US Congress are 70 years old or older. With all due respect to my esteemed colleagues @GeePawHill@mastodon.social and @RonJeffries@mastodon.social, I think it’s good that we didn’t (wouldn’t have been able to) cling to our past influence. We remain available to whatever young whippersnappers actually have skin in the game, which is as it should be. They are best suited to weigh our experience and conclusions against current reality.

    @marick@mstdn.social I'm curious, if you want to elaborate a bit, what you mean by "good". I take it that it has something to do with weilding power/influence. If that is the case, then I think the "age" metric is significantly too simplistic/reductionist.
