@schratze@todon.nl i dont understand the eu. how can the parliament president decide to vote on a bill while everyone is away? why is the recess not mandatory for her? how does an absence create a yea and not a nay or absent vote?

@notavi10@critter.cafe @schratze@todon.nl "emergency" measure it's intended for things like war or natural disasters. It was probably illegal to use it to represent a failed motion. No one will go to prison for this, but they should.

@notavi10@critter.cafe @schratze@todon.nl It does create an absent vote, the issue is that the vote was to REJECT the proposal, and REJECTING the proposal required absolute majority. Because the MEPs were away, there were not enough votes to reject... An absolute farse.
