One thing that always surprises me in the US is the sneaker obsession. Especially NY. I’ll see well dressed people in a suit and then goofy ass sneakers. Looks awful.

Grew up near Chicago… A lot of those people commute into the city and walk several blocks to their building. Sneakers are just better for that. Most probably keep dress shoes at the office and change at work. Also makes your dress shoes last longer and keeps them all polished up.
