@matt@toot.cafe @Migueldeicaza@mastodon.social to be clear I have done a ton of research myself with them, and I still have accounts with the major providers. I do not think that maintaining absolute purity has any particular virtue that we need to celebrate. The harms are ongoing, diffuse, extremely indirect, and massively widespread, so we are all a little dirty regardless of our personal choices.

@matt@toot.cafe @Migueldeicaza@mastodon.social in particular I need to reiterate every time that this kind of moral judgement crops up that I do not blame *anybody* for any use that is of the variety required for keeping their jobs. In fact the most immediate harm that I am concerned about is harm *to the user* in the form of AI psychosis and its as-yet-unlabeled cousins that I am currently calling “vibe sickness”, so that would be like blaming a coal miner for getting black lung
