turbine blades are running at extreme speeds and temperatures actually ABOVE temperatures where the material would melt/deform, but there's aerodynamic cooling through holes inside of them it's all very complicated and if things go wrong, then things explode in random directions. Typically they are checked thoroughly on a regular basis. That said… impacts (like birds or other debris) can fuck shit up suddenly. And checking might miss damage if done wrong.
