Since the most recent update to Mastodon, and the introduction of Collections (starter packs), I've been slowly adding folks to some of my collections.
Most of the people I see in my timeline, and would like to add to a Collection like #DataVis, or #SciArt, or #CreativeCoding? Most of these folks have permissions set to forbid being added to a Collection.
If you're hesitant? I *think*, but need to confirm, that there is a permission level that lets you confirm or deny a request.

Why do I care about Collections? Well, one of the biggest complaints about Mastodon and the greater Fediverse is that it's "so hard to find my friends and there is no algorithm to feed me interesting accounts". Being nerdy-artsy-type, I naturally want to help everyone find the wonderful people I've found here. My experience was organic, maybe I can help share some of that with folks who are trying to figure out these communities here.
