2073 Ebola cases have been confirmed in the DRC including 796 deaths.
The 2018-19 outbreak in the DRC took more than 10 months to reach 2000 confirmed cases, Tedros points out.

If you look beyond the number of cases and deaths things look bad too: More than 80% of new cases are not known contacts, so transmission chains are being missed. Two thirds of Ebola deaths happen in the community without ever receiving care in a health facility.
