For decades, I was convinced that Neil Peart's extended live drum solo from YYZ was unparalleled. (And then I saw the drum solo from "O Baterista!" in their Live in Rio show.)

@thegaffer@hobbitwhispers.social @flexghost@mastodon.social He was really good and I learned a lot from his lyrics. I'm perhaps not as libertarian as he seemed to be but for a time in the 1980s it seemed as if there was a rock band out there making music specifically for me personally.
