I had a good Claude success yesterday. I wanted a diagram to demonstrate Euclid's Proposition 36, that if you have two parallelograms between the same pair of parallels, and their bases are equal length, then they have the same area. I thought I'd try to use Desmos' geometry tool to draw this, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. So I went to Claude and told it to make an SVG of the diagram I wanted, which it did. Then I said to Claude “I tried to draw this in Desmos's geometry tool but couldn't figure it out. Can you walk me through that, if it's possible to do?” And it did, and — this is the big win — now I know how to do this with Desmos's geometry tool. People keep saying that AIs are going to make us less capable, but my experience has been the opposite.
