@Deadlift@byzantinenexus.io actually, any libertarian with sense knows that the public, the demos, the masses, are inherently unworthy of trust. the great number of them that exist are slaves by nature, and it is in fetters that they realize their purpose. the libertarian merely believes that the slave should be free to decide his master, and that the freeman must answer to nobody but himself.

@HatkeshiatorTND@annihilation.social That's not a coherent ideology because a freedom maximizer is always going to have not your interpretation of freedom but will want to free the slaves and end up right back here in the gutter of demotic kratos. Exactly the same treadmill that caused working men with the vote to immediately use their voting power to extend the vote to their wives. It will ironically be a better safeguard of freedom to be a national socialist and throw all these sloppa platitudes about freedom into the muck where it belongs. A dictator or king still needs to poll the opinions of the people because no man rules alone. For my own speshul snowflake autistic ideology the plan is this: have every man over 16 belong to a militia, and have all the militias act as caucuses for a form of direct democracy mediated by the king against the interests of the other pillars of influence that might exist (but cannot be easily be codified). Armed and organized militias cannot have their interests and rights ignored as easily as they can in a republic or some weird anarcho capitalist slaver state.
