As a kid I really had no idea just how useful algebra was going to be. Like, want to ferment a vegetable? Calculate your salt with s=(s+w+p)r where w is water weight, p is produce weight, and r is salt ratio. I feel like if we had had projects that required us to use the stuff we were learning I would have been much more interested. I might be doing this stuff on paper today instead of using the numeric solver on my calculator. #math #algebra
