LOL, i just sat down for a cuppa and overheard the old boys chatting nearby. once the brain is over 60, it gets it's daily exercise by reviewing what it knows. can't help but frame new events in terms of the old experience. not their fault.

well no and that's been a norm for a very long time i'm listening to a book about the 30 years war and apparently germans still say that was more influential to their mindset in modernity than anything else but you'd figure a group would look around and be like 'god damn we had it good' and then look into wtf happened
