I would respectfully suggest that what many white leftists are trying to say with "both sides are the same" is that, for example, both sides largely support law enforcement and oppose revoking qualified immunity or defunding the police (see: Zoran Mamdani's attempts to reassure voters that he will not attempt to defund the police). They are the same and not the same, depending on how much you zoom in on the situation. And I think that's very much on purpose. https://mastodon.social/@HakeemG/116887168328802172
