I've become aware of an adult couple in the Portland area who are struggling badly. They do not believe they are eligible for social services (they certainly are but will not seek it). One is bedridden at their apartment with severe bed bugs and the other is unable to remain in the apartment because of the hygenic conditions stemming. Does anyone out there know of a social organization in the area that we can contact on their behalf? Adult Protective Services has been contacted, but the situation is immediate and dire. They're unable to access their laundry room because of the bedbugs and self-care of either individual is rapidly becoming impossible.
