However, a rejection by the EP in first reading does not mean that the proposal is dead. Usually, the Council respects it and stops their work. But this time they exceptionally decided to go ahead and adopt a first reading position. This kicks the text back to the EP in a second reading, where an absolute majority is required to reject or amend. @mullvadnet@mastodon.online
