Today July 9th was my friend Lisa’s birthday. She would have been 64. We fell madly in love at age 12, and had a pubescent romance until my family moved back to San Francisco a year later. We stayed in touch though throughout the years and both eventually ended up in Austin. We had children the same age, and were in similar lines of work- she was a designer and editor & I designed and printed things… 7 or 8 years ago she moved to New Mexico and we mostly stayed In touch via text, until I got the message she’d had a fatal heart attack a little less than 3 years ago. I always called or messaged her on her birthday, and it’s hard now 2 years in a row to not be able to make that call. She was a good person and I miss her a bunch. 709
