2,500 beds for $3,000,000,000 is more than $1m per bed! Imagine if we funded homeless shelters like that!
Meanwhile, for the same $, Mincome for 250,000 people would mean 3500 fewer crimes, AND a quarter of a million people lifted out of poverty:

@datum@zeroes.ca The Conservatives would rather house people in jails to show how tough they are on crime than provide a guaranteed basic income and subsidize housing for lower income people because that would be socialism. The Republican fear mongering that’s now targeting the “communists” in the Democratic Party is gradually moving north.
