Bazarov's mother: the infodump Is she a character? Is she supposed to represent the older class of highly superstitious, religious, clueless trophy wives of the Russian bourgeoisie? I found myself entertained by this lengthy description, even though this kind of thing is considered bad style today (if you ask Umberto Eco's bones, anyway)
