one thing I heard recently is that when you marry, you leave your birth family and join your husband's family
I don't think it makes you terrible. I think you need to set clear boundaries and your husband can help enforce them.

This is very true. I adore his family, they are so good to me. Even with them I have my own set boundaries. My dad and both of my brothers understand that I have my own life to live but are always there if I need help or people to talk to.
