I really hate the HDMI cartel. Why do TVs have a bazillion new and old ports (VGA! Component! Composite!) but not a single DisplayPort?
(the answer is that they don't want competition)

@emmy@transfem.social My understanding was that DP doesn’t have encryption on it so it can’t do all the DRM stuff the media industry cares so much about.
