Hey #wildfire "enthusiasts"/community responders/concerned citizens - how do you prepare for wildfires at your home? Where I live now in France we are getting pummeled with fires at a historic rate, I have not seen any community preparedness efforts like I saw in the #California Bay Area for example since I don't think people here are really used to them in the same way... And where I grew up we didn't have wildfires, so I don't know much practical stuff. Do you have a go bag, and if so, what's in it? I have a corsi-rosenthal air purifier already FWIW. Context - shared rental apartment in a small village next to a large, very dry forest in a windy area 😅

Controlled burning of tiles around your house and not further now before the fire reach as that ground can not be reached by fire. A Bag with granades High Explosive instead fragmentation , why? because it sucks air ot and extinguish a fire locally. Water are a no brainer.

Par contre - if climate change brings tornadoes to France - I'll feel like I'm at home in the Midwest. But then I suppose we'd risk fire tornadoes 😔

@kirk@social.coop Practice collecting these things to evacuate with them People, pets, plastic (credit cards, id cards), papers (difficult to replace documents), pills (medications)
