I know a lot of transfem friends who use grindr and it perplexes me to no end - its an app primarily for gay men! Is it not endlessly dysphoric to put oneself in that situation? The people who are expressing attraction to one are likely attracted to one as a “twink” or “sissy” as opposed to “woman” >.< I mean this with no malice or judgment, it just truly confuses me

  • there are twinks, sissies, crossdressers, enbies, and trans fems on there. theres also lots of chasers for sure. but for me at least im mostly looking for other trans fems on there, so i dont have to worry too much about being misgendered or anything. i mostly like it because theres way fewer barriers to talking to people so its much easier to connect with them if youre both interested. ive found it so fucking hard to connect with people on other apps with how they dribble out people to swipe on and only let you talk to people youve matched with. even on apps that are supposedly queer friendly i just get fucking nothing, and im not gonna pay to get gaslit by some capitalist asshole who just wants my money and doesnt want me to connect with anyone. so mainly grindr is like the only app that even works for me.
