I am having a problem signing in to my Ebay account. It keeps asking me to check a checkbox. I do so, and then, it gives me an inaccessible captcha with no audio alternative. I tried this on Windows 7, 10, and 11, with Firefox and Supermium, and nothing changes. I can't even read their accessibility page because it asks me to sign in and sending me back to the captchas! Is there a trustworthy captcha solver that works with NVDA or a way around this? Alternatively, does anyone here know of another site that sells vintage and antique things, or even another ebay replacement in general? I've been with them for over twenty years as a buyer, but if I need to change sites, I will do so. This is ridiculous! #accessibility #blind #captchas #Ebay #Firefox #inaccessibility #NVDA #ScreenReaders #Supermium #technology #Windows7 #Windows10 #Windows 11

  • Oh, how lovely! I just tried to sign up for their accessibility cookie (why Ebay and all sites can't just implement an accessible captcha from the beginning without that I don't know), and since my e-mail address is from GMail, they want to force me to sign up with Google and not just with my GMail! So not only will they track me, but they want to link everything to Google! This is all so that I can do something that everyone else can do freely and without tracking.

@dandylover1@someplace.social @DavidGoldfield@allovertheplace.ca I use Guide AI Assistant, and NVDA add-ons like Vision Assistant Pro to solve Captchas and things. And there’s an NVDA add-on called Computer Use, you could try that. There’s Codex from ChatGPT too. That’s got a plug-in for Chrome and a computer use thing.
