American first time in #Calgary impressions. Saw the big Stampede. The whole town feels a bit like "cowboy cosplay" with cowboy hats like mouse ears at Disney. I had never heard of a horse relay race, where the riders change horses, bareback jumping off and on and continuing. That was cool. Comparing to US cities, it feels like mini-Dallas, or like a spread out Medford with a Manhattan population. It is cleaner, and feels kinder than most US cities. Country twang, with less racism.
