@caten@mathstodon.xyz However, the civilisation that wants to use Ω would need absolutely enormous finite computation resources to do so:

On the other hand, a civilisation with the ability to use closed time-like curves for hypercomputations will already have enormous resources at its disposal.

@mrdk@mathstodon.xyz Fair point, but since the part about a hypercomputer built around a closed timelike curve is more fiction than science, let's just say the hypercomputer is still more resource-intensive than that.
