He'd be quite happy to divide the world into 2 or 3 regions of super-power control and leave Europe to deal with Russia itself. US annexation of Greenland would effectively leave Canada surrounded by the US on 3 sides (with Russia over the top). To be clear: annexing Canada next is the quiet part of Trump's Greenland ambition, with Mexico to follow. He wants the whole continent.
