The cash for questions scandal led to an official enquiry into the scandal…but John Major decided before the enquiry could be published he would pro-rogue Parliament and call a general election. Martin Bell, the man famously always in the white suit and veteran BBC journalist, stood and easily won as an independent candidate again Neil Hamilton in his constituency of Tatton.
